Arena Rules & Academic Integrity

Last Updated: February 2026

The ESTUDY Arena is a competitive crucible designed to test genuine academic mastery. To maintain a fair and fiercely competitive environment, all participants must strictly adhere to the following rules of engagement.

1. The Ultimate Game of Skill

Every tournament hosted within the ESTUDY Arena is fundamentally classified as a Game of Skill. Match outcomes are determined exclusively by a user’s intellectual preparation, rapid recall, and strategic use of authorized in-game mechanics (e.g., Action Cards). Luck, chance, and randomized external variables hold no bearing on the final verdict of a match.

2. Academic Dishonesty & Unauthorized Assistance

ESTUDY employs strict monitoring to ensure an even playing field. The following actions constitute severe academic dishonesty and are strictly prohibited:

  • Third-Party Software: The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) bots, browser extensions, or automated answering scripts.
  • Screen Manipulation: Rapidly switching tabs, minimizing the application window, or utilizing split-screen setups during an active match to search for answers.
  • Collusion & Ghosting: Communicating with external parties or opponent teams to manipulate match outcomes, trade answers, or artificially boost a team's Rank Points (RP).
  • Account Sharing (Smurfing): High-ranking users playing on secondary or lower-tier accounts to bypass entry requirements and dominate lower-level brackets.

3. Team Dynamics: Captains & Mercenaries

Tournaments often require squad formations. By entering a team-based bracket, you agree to the following responsibilities:

  • Captains: Premade team Captains are responsible for the conduct of their invitees. If an invited member is caught cheating, the entire team may face immediate disqualification from the bracket.
  • Mercenaries: Users entering the solo draft pool agree to be matched dynamically by the ESTUDY algorithm. Sabotaging a drafted team (e.g., intentionally failing questions) is grounds for an immediate ban from future Arena events.

4. Logistics, Disconnections & Technical Forfeits

In a live, synchronized competitive environment, stability and timing are paramount.

  • Standardized Timing: All tournament schedules, countdowns, and deadlines within the ESTUDY Arena operate on West Africa Time (WAT). Participants are solely responsible for converting match times to their local timezones.
  • User Liability: Participants are entirely responsible for their own internet connection and device stability. If a user disconnects mid-match, the Liquid Timer will continue, and unanswered questions will be marked as incorrect.
  • No Refunds: Entry fees (empCoins) will not be refunded for matches lost due to personal hardware failures, battery depletion, or network drops.
  • Server Interruptions: In the rare event of a global ESTUDY server failure, all affected active matches will be nullified, and entry fees will be fully refunded to the participants' wallets.

The Voluntary Rematch & Stalemate Clause (1v1 Matches)

ESTUDY is designed to produce definitive winners based on academic skill. However, we recognize that perfectly matched opponents may occasionally reach a draw.

  • The First Draw: If a 1v1 match results in a draw, the match concludes without penalties. Both players retain the freedom to leave the matchmaking session or voluntarily choose to play again.
  • The Second Consecutive Draw: If both players voluntarily enter a rematch against each other and the match results in a draw for a second consecutive time, the session will be officially terminated to prevent gridlock.
  • Resolution & Refund: Upon this second consecutive draw, ESTUDY will automatically refund 85% of the original empCoin entry fee to both participants' Vaults. The remaining 15% is retained as a non-refundable administrative and network processing fee.

5. The Right to Withhold & Disciplinary Action (The 3-Strike Protocol)

ESTUDY's automated anti-cheat systems and administrative moderators continuously review match data. If anomalous behavior, unauthorized assistance, or a breach of this policy is detected, ESTUDY holds the unilateral right to enforce the following strict 3-Strike Protocol:

  • Strike 1 (The 3-Day Suspension): The user's account will be immediately suspended from all platform activities for a period of seventy-two (72) hours. The entry fee for the compromised match will be forfeited.
  • Strike 2 (The 30-Day Suspension): Upon a second violation, the user's account will be locked and suspended from the platform for thirty (30) days.
  • Strike 3 (The Exile Protocol - Permanent Ban): A third violation will result in immediate and permanent termination of the account. ESTUDY will reset all associated Rank Points (RP) to zero, erase leaderboard standings, and permanently freeze and confiscate the entire empCoin Vault Balance without refund or right to extraction.

No Appeals: All disciplinary actions, including account bans and rank resets, are final. ESTUDY does not entertain appeals for violations detected by our automated anti-cheat systems, ensuring administrative efficiency and platform security.

By paying the entry fee and stepping into the ESTUDY Arena, you submit to the authority of these rules and the final judgment of the ESTUDY administration.
