Economy & Rewards Policy

ESTUDY operates a Learn-to-Earn (L2E) ecosystem designed to reward academic excellence, preparation, and peer collaboration. This document outlines the rules governing our virtual economy, Merit Rewards, and withdrawal procedures.

1. The Virtual Economy (empCoins)

The primary medium of exchange within the ESTUDY platform is a virtual utility token known as empCoins.

  • Not Fiat Currency: empCoins are digital utility tokens. They do not constitute legal tender, fiat currency, or a financial investment.
  • Ecosystem Utility: empCoins are designed exclusively for use within the expanding ESTUDY ecosystem. While they cannot be traded on unauthorized third-party crypto-exchanges, they may be redeemed for digital services on the platform, or for physical goods, services, and hospitality at affiliated or company-owned partners as the ESTUDY network expands.
  • Game of Skill: ESTUDY is strictly an educational platform. Entry fees paid in empCoins to participate in Arena Tournaments are administrative and prize-pooling fees for games of academic skill, not wagers on games of chance.
  • Regulatory Adaptation: The ESTUDY economy is designed strictly for educational utility. However, ESTUDY reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the empCoin ecosystem, or alter withdrawal limits, to remain fully compliant with directives from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), or other relevant regulatory authorities.

2. Earning and Purchasing

Users can acquire empCoins through two primary methods:

  • Merit Acquisition: Earned by completing educational tasks, maintaining daily study streaks, contributing to the platform, or winning academic Arena Tournaments.
  • Direct Purchase: Users may purchase empCoins via approved payment gateways to access premium features, buy in-game study cards, or cover administrative entry fees for specific tournaments.
  • All Sales are Final: Once fiat currency is successfully converted into empCoins and credited to a user's wallet, the transaction is non-refundable. empCoins cannot be reverse-exchanged for fiat currency except through the official Merit Grant withdrawal process for eligible earnings.

3. Merit Grant Withdrawals & KYC

ESTUDY allows eligible users to convert earned empCoins into local fiat currency (Naira) as a "Merit Grant." To protect the integrity of the platform and comply with local regulations, the following rules apply:

  • Identity Verification (KYC): To process a fiat withdrawal, users must complete a Know Your Customer (KYC) verification. This may require providing a valid National Identification Number (NIN) or student ID, in compliance with regulatory directives.
  • Dynamic Conversion Rates: The fiat value of a Merit Grant is determined by the active empCoin conversion rate at the exact time of withdrawal. ESTUDY reserves the right to adjust this conversion rate at any time without prior notice to ensure the sustainability of the platform's ecosystem.
  • Withdrawal Minimums: ESTUDY reserves the right to enforce minimum withdrawal limits to cover payment processing fees.
  • Sponsorships: Payouts may occasionally be funded by third-party educational sponsors. These will be clearly marked as Sponsored Academic Grants.

4. Tax Compliance & Statutory Deductions

Users are solely responsible for reporting and paying any applicable personal income taxes on Merit Grants received from ESTUDY. However, ESTUDY strictly abides by local financial regulations.

  • Automatic Statutory Withholding: Where mandated by applicable local, state, or federal laws, ESTUDY reserves the right to automatically compute and deduct any required statutory taxes, levies, or regulatory fees directly from qualifying payouts before funds are remitted to the user’s designated bank account.
  • Tax Credits: In the event of an automatic deduction, the withheld amount serves as a tax credit to the user, and ESTUDY will maintain proper records for transparency.

5. Fraud & Account Forfeiture

ESTUDY maintains a zero-tolerance policy for academic dishonesty, system manipulation, or financial fraud. If a user is found to have breached the Arena Rules & Integrity Policy, ESTUDY reserves the unilateral right to:

  • Immediately suspend or permanently ban the user's account.
  • Void any tournament placements or Merit Grants.
  • Permanently freeze the user's Vault. Any attempt to initialize an exchange or Extract Funds to a Destination Node will be permanently blocked.
  • Confiscate all acquired and earned empCoins held in the user's Vault to redistribute as platform Merit Grants or cover administrative damages.

6. Account Dormancy

To maintain ecosystem liquidity, ESTUDY reserves the right to expire and reclaim empCoins from wallets that have registered zero login activity for a consecutive period of twelve (12) months.

By using the ESTUDY platform and participating in the virtual economy, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by this Economy & Rewards Policy.
